A destructive catastrophe
What happened: a Tsunami
Where: in Thailand, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Tamil Nadu (India), Maldives and Somelia
When: Sunday 26 December, 2004
Who: 280,000 people in 14 countries were killed and missing.
Why: because of the bad tectonic activity under the sea. It was a fault below 20 miles and this forced one plate to move upwards and the water was moved in giant waves.

How did it feel to be there?
- Hello I am Tom Johnson. I lived in Thailand since 2000 and I have always been afraid of tsunamis but I never thought it was going to be so strong and damaging. Even the palm trees were distroyed. The houses were broken, it was like an earthquake that distroyed everything that was on its path.
It felt like a shake on the floor, first it was slow but after 2 minutes everything was destroyed.
The hospitals were crowded with kids shouting their parent's names and hurt men searching for their wifes.
Which was the common illness when this catastrophe happened?
- Over 300,000 men died. But the ones who survived were in danger due to very hazardous diseases. The body diposal because too many were infected so they dug and buried dead bodies so as not to contaminate more.
Infectious diseases such as yellow fever, cholera, diaries and typhoid were spread.
There were diseases with relation to chicken pox, measles, scabies, fleas, lice.
This was a big problem because with the overcrowding of refugee camps and the little sanitation and damp many people spread disease.
After the tsunami, how does life go on?
- Many people suffered traumas and have to go to another place were tsunami don't ocurred.
But in the environment there have also been problems such as mangroves, corals reefs, desforestation, rocks formation, etc.
And nowadays you can see those problems.
A destructive Catastrophe:
* The tsunami, known as the Sumatra-Andaman, was triggered by an undersea megathrust earthquake on 26 of December, was the second biggest tsunami ever recorded, registering between 9.1 and 9.3.
The tsunami, which was actually a series of tsunamis, affected many countries like India, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Maldives, Myanmar, Somalia, Sri Lanka, and Thailand.
The most deaths occurred in Indonesia. A lots of other countries also suffered from the tsunami like Bangladesh, Kenya, Seychelles, South Africa, Tanzania, Yemen, Australia, Madagascar, Mauritius, Oman, and Singapore. Numerous other countries lost citizens who were traveling abroad and were caught by the tsunami.
People who knew the warning signs of a tsunami were able to save themselves like a British family who was saved because one of the children had learned about tsunamis and recognized the warning signs. Also animals could sensed the catastrophe and migrated to a safer place.
It not only affected to death because it also affected to economic and environmental problems.
Some problems were contamination of potable water, desforestation, destruction of corals reef and the fishing gear and supplies were destroyed.

Experimento con un huevo
En Ciencias Naturales realizamos un trabajo en el cual teníamos que llenar un bowl con agua, luego colocar un huevo y a media que pasaba el tiempo le agregábamos sal. Lo que pudimos observar fue que el huevo iba subiendo dependiendo de la cantidad de sal. Aquí hay un video que muestra proceso.
La materia
En la clase de Naturales lo que hicimos entre todos fue un mapa conceptual con conceptos de la materia, pero no le pusimos conectores entonces nuestro trabajo consistió en agregarles conectores.

The origin of the ocean
Answers:
1) What condition God said to the people?
2) What had done God to help them?
3) What happened at the end?
1_ The God's condition was that the people of Tebas built him a temple to be more famous in the city.
2_ The God made an ocean to help the people of Tebas.
3_ At the end the people had the ocean but they forget to built the temple of the God so he decided to punished them by adding salt to the ocean so many people died.
The creation of the tomatoes
A long time ago there was a town with no more than a hundred people.The people were very happy, they worked as farmers, they cultivated and they raised animals like cows or sheeps. Children went to school and some of them worked as farmers with their parents. But the girls helped their mothers to sew. But one spring morning when the farmers woke up early they realised that the crops were not there. The time passed and they were very hungry so Zeus, the most powerful god, decided to make them a giff to to survived.
The farmers were starving and as they worked cultivating the soil and raising the animals and earned money in that way they had not money, so Zeus the most powerful god, decided to make a thunder as his gift. It consisted in placed the seeds in the Nilo river and when the river was in the higher way he would create a thunder and the tomato seed wetted in holy water would grow but the process would delay. Poseidon used the time and he made a tsunami and all the crops that were growing died. Suddenly Zeus listened that, and he get very angry and fought against Poseidon. It became a gods fight between Poseidon and Zeus.
Poseidon and Zeus started to fight. Poseidon threw a lot of water to Zeus and he threw a ray but Poseidon covered him with more water and threw it all to him. The water was electrified because of the ray so Zeus finished electrified.
Zeus called all the gods to help him to destroy Poseidon. Nobody helped him except Hades, the god of the red fire. So one night they went to the castle of Poseidon to kill him. Poseidon was sleeping so Hades distracted the guards of the castle while Zeus went to kill Poseidon. Zeus quietly entered to the room and threw a ray to the head of Poseidon and burned his brain, so he died.
Zeus and Hades gathered their powers and created a red ray and finally they created the tomatoes.

Entrevista al Medico José Vega
El día martes 21 de Octubre realizamos un hangout con un médico argentino llamado José Vega, padre del colegio, que esta en Guinea Ecuatorial, Mongomo. Nosotros le hicimos preguntas como cual era la enfermedad más frecuente y es Paludismo pero también nos contó que son muy frecuentes los accidentes automovilísticos. La enfermedad más grave que atendió fue una niña de seis años que tenía un tumor en uno de sus pulmones.
Lo que mas queríamos saber era si el atendía a pacientes con ebola pero no lo hace. El trabaja en una clínica llamada "Policlínico Virgen de Guadalupe" en el cual atiende a personas de clase media o alta, la clínica es privada.
Queríamos saber que se hace con un niño que sufre desnutrición y aprendimos que lo primero que se tiene que hacer es darle agua y no mucha comida de repente para que el estomago se acostumbre. Igualmente el no atiende ese tipo casos.
El trabaja con dos enfermeras cubanas y otros médicos de diferentes países.

Lucie se présente
En la clase de Francés lo que hicimos fue hacer un trabajo en el cual abarcamos todos los temas del año. Trabajamos utilizando Pixton que teníamos que hacer un comic con ilustraciones.

Taller Itinerante
El día 17 de Septiembre fuimos a la guardería Nuetra Señora de Betharram. Con up nuestros compañeros realizamos una coreografía que luego las nenas se unieron y bailamos todos, también hicimos una obra en la cual intentamos mostrarles a los chicos que todo lo que tiran puede llegar tener otro uso con juegos hechos con botellas o tapitas. Y finalmente planeamos un juego con materiales reciclados que eran papeles de colores de revistas y un papel partido en cuatro con un tucán dibujado. El juego conistia en pegar cada papel en el lugar indicado pero también lo importante era que los nenes tomen conciencia de que estaban haciendo un dibujo con cosas que iban a ir a la basura.

Lowood Farm
One summer day in a colourful farm all the animals were very happy. You can find all type of animals, like horses, sheep, ducks, pigs, dogs, and chickens. But the most beautiful and loved were Sweety the pig and a yellow duck.
Every morning the farmer came, cleaned the animals, fed them and then he let them free to play and run. Then he picked up the eggs. And finally the visitors started to arrive.
At the beginning the Lowood farm was not very famous but with over the years the people started to spend a lot of time in the farm. They were very polite, they didn't throw anything on the floor but then the things started to change.
All the people started visiting constantly the farm and Rex was not the same,the other animals didn't know what happened with him. Rex now was a bad horse who discriminate the other animals.
-"You are a dirty and silly pig, and your name "Sweety" don't match anything with your ugly face" Rex shouted. "And you have to fix your legs, curved duck"
All the animals couldn't stand it anymore. They were in constant fear of Rex and of the people that visited the farm. That persons, didn't knowing, make the animals eat things they didn't want or like.
The farm was very quiet and sad until the farmer came with a new integrant. It was a sheep called Lancy the more intelligent in Lowood City. When the farmer left, Lancy started talking with the other animals and she realized that they were very sad because of Rex.
"Where is Rex?" she asked
-"Here I am!" he answer
-"What happen to you?"
Rex saw her with a bad face".-" Nothing...is just ,when I was little... all the people that came to ride me, discriminated me because I was very tall and gave me their food"-
"But, why do you do to other animals what you don't like to do it to you?" Lancy asked
"Because.... I want people and animals respect me. You know that my life when I was a child was horrible, but please forgive me.
-"Ok we forgive you, but promise Rex that you will never discriminate us again, do you promise? "Sweety asked"
-"I promise,please forgive me." Rex shout .
All were very happy on the farm and Rex have many new friends...
Moral: you must not discriminate.

"Pensa antes de tirar"
Estamos realizando un proyecto en el cual intentamos que todos en especial los niños tomen conciencia que los objetos que tiran pueden tener otro uso para vos y para otras personas, haciendo una obra en la cual actuamos, bailamos y hacemos objetos reciclados.
