Book Review "The Phoenix"

In Writing class we have read and learned how to write a book review so after reading "The Phoenix" in Literature we should write a book review of this story.

"The Phoenix" was written by Sylvia Townsend Warner in 1986. It is an excellent story which shows how men use nature for its own comfort and to make money. The story is set just after a world war.
The story is about The Phoenix, a unique bird from Arabia, that one day was caught by an ambitious man called Lord Srawberry. He had a perfect  aviary for the magnificent bird. After some time Stawberry died penniless, so the bird came on the market. Mister Poldero, bought it , and he discovered something very important of the beautiful bird. That is the reason why Poldero uses The Phoenix for his own benefit and to make money. The plot of the story is full of action and the main characters are really interesting.
There are three main characters: Mister Poldero, ambitious and materialistic. Another character is  Lord Strawberry an european nobleman, who went  to Arabia to get the bird. And finally the Phoenix, the most important character, it is an exotic bird, silent until the end of the story.
To sum up "the Phoenix" is an interesting and exiting story about the exploitation of nature for commercial success. If you enjoy action and nature I would completely recommend reading this excellent story.

Story

In the class of L L Writing we had to to write a story and the story should end with this sentence: "and that was the last time she ever saw them." Previously we had revised the tenses, and we learned a large vocabularie and we also learned the kinds of story. Here is my story:

A strange walking:

There was a beautiful girl called Jenny, she was 14 years old, she has recently moved to a charming peaceful house near the beach in California with her warm and lovely mom and her mean older brother, Simon. One day Jenny was returning from school, she was new in the city so he didn't have friends. She saw a group of teenagers that were talking in a deserted corner, she decided to follow them. Jenny made a  noise and a boy discovered that she was there. People told her that it was really dangerous to follow them but she insisted to stay with them. Finally, they told her their names: Tom, a sympathetic boy, Charlie, Serena and Sophie. But Charlie insisted in leave Jenny because it was very dangerous. In that exact moment a bright light appeared and Jenny fell down. When she woke up she had a strong headache, Sophie told her that they were in a different age in the past and even  his grandparents hadn't born.
-That's why it was dangerous - screamed Charlie
-We don't know how to return- Serena said worried
Jenny was really worried because they could change the world and the history.
They spent days in that place, that looked uninhabited and shabby but peaceful. They couldn't communicate with people because they spoke a different language. They were starving.
One morning Jenny was very disappointed because she missed her house, her mom and her brother. Luckily, that bright light appeared again and they returned home. Everything was like that crazy day. Nothing had changed. The reason why they returned was because Jenny had wished to returned so much.
Unfortunately, when she woke up and realised she was back, she was alone, and that was the last time she ever saw them.
