Mi experiencia en ArteBa

Con el colegio tuve la gran experiencia de poder asistir a la muestra de arte conocida como ArteBa junto a mis compañeros. Fue un dia que pudimos observar diferentes obras de arte y conocer diferentes aspectos de ellas. Aqui esta un resumen de lo que fue para mi este gran día:

Useful tips for international students

If you are a restless and anxious person, it would be a good idea to get to know all the different activities we offer to have fun and doing some sport on your stay.

-There are many free courses dot tourists. 

-Shops are really cheap to rent sport clothing.

• Local hospitals

It is really important to consider the point in case of an emergency.

- There are close to our school

-There are many good professional.

- The medical consultation is really quick

-There are many well-known hospitals near school

• Dentist

It would be a good idea to have the number of a professional dentist in case of an emergency. 

-The consulting room is near the school building 

-The appointment is free

- You can have an appointment with a well known dentist.

• Pharmacies

The following is a list of important matters about this item which it may concern you.

-There are lots of necessary things

-Prices are reasonable 

- You can find many things on sale.

- Almost in every block you can find one pharmacy to get whatever you need

If you follow these tips, I grant you will have an excellent time! Take our advice to get the most of your visit.  

¨Parent Trap¨

In Writing class we were asked to write a review about one of the best movies we ever saw. Apart from that, we worked in class all the review aspects an some writing tips.


Last week I saw one of the most hilarious and enjoyable movie ever, called ¨Parent Trap¨ an American romantic comedy- drama filmed in 1988. It was directed by Nancy Meyers and produced by Charles Shyer. The highlight for me was the plot, during a summer camp two pre-teens named Hallie and Annie met, and they realised that they identical twins, from an american winemaker father (Nick) and a famous dress designer mother (Elizabeth). However, they lived on two different extremes of the world. Elizabeth with Hallie in London and Nick with Annie in California. The girls later choose to swap to make their parents meet (again).

 For starters, I personally believed that the visual effects were astonishing and mind blowing. It was breathtaking to watch the twins, on every scene, they looked identical, however they were two different actresses. It was preposterous the visual effects and the incredible technic they used. They were two different actresses, however they ¨placed¨ Lindsay Lohan's face , so as to make it even more creditable. Apart from that, they made them different looks and haircuts. It was really amazing.

 The other thing I liked the most was the plot. It was a great surprise the twisted and beyond-belief ending. I would really recommend it! You should probably give it a miss if you enjoy intriguing and absorbing films.

 To sum up, I would highly recommend ¨Parent Trap¨ since it has every ingredient a movie needs to be hilarious, an enjoyable plot, talented actors, charismatic and comic scenes and a legendary ending. If that is your thing , then you should give it a try.  

Visiting the Cardiff Castle

During our visit to the UK, we were asked different tasks form our different teacher. When we were on our tour to the Cardiff Castle we were asked to find the shelters form the WW2. Apart form that we should gather information and take as many photos as we could. I worked with Olivia Converti

The war time shelters in the Cardiff Castle

Where are they located inside the castle?

Few people realise that within the walls of the Castle are tunnels – tunnels which came into their own as air-raid shelters during the Second World War. It was estimated that more than 1800 people could take shelter within the walls and when the sirens sounded, people who lived and worked in the city would rush to the shelters. Special ramps were built so that people could gain access into the walls quickly. Within the walls there were dormitories with bunks, kitchens, toilets and first aid posts.

On the outbreak of World War in 1939, Britain prepared for air raids, and Cardiff Corporation aproached Lord Bute, owner of the castle, asking if he would allow the strong outer walls of the site to be used as bomb shelters. Bute agreed, and these tunnels were divided off into eight large shelters, allowing them to accommodate hundreds of people The exterior walls were broken through, and long wooden ramps gave quick access during an emergency, Inside, civilians sometimes slept in the cold and damp shelters, which also containes an air raid warden’s post, a small canteen and a sleep bay.

Presidencias Liberales

En la clase Historia estuvimos estudiando el periodo de la historia argentina desde 1862- 1880. Ademas tuvimos que presentar oralmente la información. Trabaje con Olivia Converti, Manuel Busquets y Emilia Hernan.

 

Les Miserables

"Les Miserables"

Court résumé du Film.

1. Les Misérables c’est un oeuvre du célèbre écrivain Victor Hugo. L’auteur décrit la vie a Paris dans la révolution française. Le personnage principal, Jean Valjean est un forçat qui est été condamné pour voler un pain. Dans la prison, il a été harcelé pour Javert, un police. Il a condamné pour dix neuf ans. Après s'être échappé de prison, Jean Valjean se réfugie dans un couvent. Là, il a essayé de voler au l'évêque Myriel des choses de valeur et quand la police il l'a arrêté, le prêtre il le défend malgré en disant que il a donné ces choses pour vendre. Des années plus tard, Jean Valjean s’est transformé au Maire. Il a eu une usine où Fantine a travaillé. Après qu'elle a rejeté, Jean Valjean a donné de l’aide pour sa fille parce que Fantine a été une mère célibataire et elle n'a eu d'argent. Quand Fantine est morte, Jean Valjean prend soin de Cosette. Ils se sont réfugié dans un couvent parce que Javert les a découvert. Des années plus tard, Cosette, déjà avec 16 ans, est tombée amoureuse d'un révolutionnaire, Marcus. Javert a découvert que Cosette était la fille de Jean Valjean. Javert a essayé d'attraper Jean Valjean mais finalement il s'est suicidé.

2. Les personnages principaux

Jean Valjean: est un ancien bagnard qui a été condamné à cinq ans de prison pour avoir volé un morceau de pain. Sa peine est de quatorze ans.Finalement il a sorti de prison après dix-neuf années de supplice.

Javert: est un inspecteur de police à Montreuil. Il est un homme dédié, travailleur et qui suit les règles et les lois. Il ne souhaite que faire régner la justice et ceci à’ n'importe quel prix. Après, les criminels ont vendu leurs âmes au mal et n'ont aucune chance de rédemption.

Gavroche: est un gamin de Paris que les nécessités du combat et de la misère ont prématurément forme, sans pour autant altérer son humeur spirituelle et sont esprit gouailleur.

Fantine: la misère l’a conduit à la prostitution. Elle connaît non seulement les difficultés de la vie en tant que mère, mais également les difficultés de la vie en tant que paysanne. Elle a un emploi à Paris dans la fabrique de M. Madeleine (Jean Valjean). Alors Fantine touche de fond. Non seulement elle est incapable de se nourrir elle-même, mais elles est aussi incapable de subvenir aux besoins de sa fille Cosette.

Cosette:elle est la fille de Fantine et de Tholomyès. Enfantée dans la misère, elle y a grandit et voit sa mère vivre dans la souffrance au quotidien alors qu'elle s’efforce de lui donner un avenir meilleur.

Marius Pontmercy: Il est le fils de George Pontmercy (militaire bonapartiste). Il est influencé par les idées de son père.

3.L'auteur et ses oeuvres:

Victor Hugo poète, dramaturge, prosateur et dessinateur romantique français. Il est  né à Besançon le 26 février 1802 et mort le 22 mai 1885 à Paris.

Parmi ses oeuvres les plus remarquables sont Les Misérables (1862), Angelo (1835), Les Travailleurs de la Mer (1866), et Notre Dame de Paris (1831).

Global Trade

In Global Perseptives class we were discussing Global Trade, since it is an important topic nowadays. We were asked to discuss some interesting questions. Here are my answers about this topic.

1. I personally believed that it could be  an inevitable relationship of global trade, since developing countries can start increasing the prices of their goods, and in that way they could have a little more money and with that they can improve their living conditions. Nevertheless, it is really complicate as developed countries have a lot more power on global trade than they have in developing ones, such as Indian subcontinent. Moreover global trade should benefit both countries, the more economically developed and the less economically developed countries. Apart from that the poorest countries could start obtaining more benefits also, not only the developed and powerful countries. Sincerely, it is really complex to change the way global trade works, since the rich countries are the ones who controls everything and gain benefits and money from the less powerful countries. In consequence these countries suffered a lot more, they have less opportunities, less benefits, and more economical and social problems. In other words, if global trade change these way it works, both parts could benefits, the developed an the developing ones.

2. I consider that those aspects are really important for every human being, the health, the inequality between rich and poor. However they  did not place a great role in international relations, since countries look forward to make the greatest money they can, however they leave aside the problems they can causes, such as industries contamination, air pollution, deforestation, etc. Apart from that the rich ones can access possibilities that the poor ones, will never have. This is not fair, as they work in horrible conditions and have miserable wages I believe, that governments in all countries should start taking measures to improve those qualities and those inequalities. Apart from that, the more economically developed countries did not consider the damages they are causing in the less economically developed countries, not only for the people who lived there but also for the whole world and for future generations.

The developed and rich countries obtain the raw material in poor countries by very harmful techniques without awareness in all the harm they are causing, but only being conscious on the money they are making. This role is the less important in Global Trade however it should be the most importants of all ones from my point of view.

3. My personal opinion about this topic is that governments should start doing something to improve those qualities. Apart from that developing  countries can access to little things in comparison with the rich ones. Moreover, they are causing a lot of harm to the world and to human beings, with awareness of that, of people dying, of sicknesses, of deforestation, contamination and pollution. They only care on the money they are making. What is very important to highlight is that even though they are causing harm to other countries and to the world, they do not consider that they are ruining their own world  apart from future generations lifes.

4. I can find many points about this issue, since it is an important topic nowadays which impacts on every country.  There are two big opinion on this topic, on one side there are the ones who support the global trade and agree on the idea that it is helping poor countries, however on the other side, there are the ones who disagree on that idea, and consider that they are causing irreparables damages to the world.

The first idea is based on the information that when developing countries were “add” to the GLobal Trade they started having more benefits, and having less poverty problems. Nonetheless other suggested that they are causing an incredible harm to our world with conscious.

I considered that we should change those aspects in the global trade since the ones who suffered are the ones who have the less opportunities and the less benefits, I believe that if that change we could all benefit without damaging neither the world future generation nor people.

Finally, I considered that the way we look the world should also change since people are always looking forward to make money without considering all the damages. If this view change we could all have better consequences, and a better future.
