Book Review "The Phoenix"

In Writing class we have read and learned how to write a book review so after reading "The Phoenix" in Literature we should write a book review of this story.

"The Phoenix" was written by Sylvia Townsend Warner in 1986. It is an excellent story which shows how men use nature for its own comfort and to make money. The story is set just after a world war.
The story is about The Phoenix, a unique bird from Arabia, that one day was caught by an ambitious man called Lord Srawberry. He had a perfect  aviary for the magnificent bird. After some time Stawberry died penniless, so the bird came on the market. Mister Poldero, bought it , and he discovered something very important of the beautiful bird. That is the reason why Poldero uses The Phoenix for his own benefit and to make money. The plot of the story is full of action and the main characters are really interesting.
There are three main characters: Mister Poldero, ambitious and materialistic. Another character is  Lord Strawberry an european nobleman, who went  to Arabia to get the bird. And finally the Phoenix, the most important character, it is an exotic bird, silent until the end of the story.
To sum up "the Phoenix" is an interesting and exiting story about the exploitation of nature for commercial success. If you enjoy action and nature I would completely recommend reading this excellent story.
